Everyone knows that getting a new pet can be difficult, especially if the new pet is a saber-toothed cat named Mittens.  Penelope Rex had a hard time adjusting to the many issues that a new pet can present, especially a pet like Mittens.  Penelope did learn that with patience and a little training, having a Mittens is worth the trouble.  Great book for children getting a new pet.

This beautiful and heartwarming book is perfect for a bedtime story.  It is the story of Mama and Baby Sloth preparing to sleep high up in a tree by the light of the moon.  Poor Baby falls to the ground, and very slowly, Mama makes her way down the tree to retrieve her sweet baby.  She uses words of comfort and beauty the entire way down.  Please put this book on your read-aloud list.

Back to an “oldie” but a “goodie”.  “Go, Dog.  Go!” is over 60 years old, but should not be forgotten as a great read aloud for young children.  This book covers so many early literacy skills and is just fun to read.  It highlights color recognition, directionality and counting.  Children will soon be reading this book on their own.  A must for your home library.

This adorable book is perfect for young children.  Tiny T. Rex wanted to make the perfect valentine for his best friend Pointy. However, everything went wrong and Tiny T. Rex was very sad.  The ending of this sweet story is perfect.  Wonderful book for Valentine’s Day!
